Panels now fully supports iPhone Duo

Panels now fully supports iPhone Duo

Panels 3.13.10 is out, and it fully supports iPhone Duo.

Open it up and your library and the reader use the whole inner display. Close it and Panels picks up on the outer screen right where you were. The Duo inner display is incredible for reading.

Update from the App Store and give it a try. If anything looks off on your Duo, let us know on Discord.

This first update mainly adds full compatibility, but we won't stop here.

What's next: Panels 4

We're hard at work on Panels 4, our biggest release ever, and we hope to ship it by the end of the year. It comes with new UI and reading modes, updated library supporting metadata, and much more.

Panels View is no longer an experiment

Panels View, our panel-by-panel reader, is becoming a first-class feature. Panels 4 ships it with a brand-new detection model and a rebuilt reader. It's way faster and it preloads upcoming pages, so you'll (almost) never see "Analyzing page…" again.

Dual View

The iPhone Duo inspired a new mode for Panels View on iPad, Mac and the Duo's inner screen. Dual View shows the full page right next to the panel you're reading:

  • Put the page before or after the panel: left or right in landscape, top or bottom in portrait.
  • Tap any panel on the page to jump straight to it.
  • Drag the divider to resize the two sides.

And more

  • Maximum zoom, because tiny panels blown up on a big iPad screen look terrible.
  • Large panels in parts. On an iPhone in portrait, a full-width panel shows its left side first and then its right, which makes it much easier to read.
  • Better transitions and smoother animations throughout.

There's a lot more coming in Panels 4. Join us on Discord to see the sneak peeks first.
